MOBILITY BATHROOMS
Making Life In Your Bathroom Space Easier and Safer

When designing disabled bathrooms or wet rooms, we take into account the extent of a person’s disability, location and size of the existing area and the needs of other users.

Bathrooms are designed to suit the needs of the individual with mobility issues while keeping in mind the need for a modern and attractive bathing experience. We often work closely with occupational therapists so that we make sure our client's individual needs are catered for in a tailored bathroom environment specifically designed for them.

Bathroom Conversion from Bath to Walk In Shower

Firstly we remove the existing bath and associated plumbing.

Next is running hot and cold feed to where the shower controls will go (soldered copper or brass ...no plastic) we then pressure test the system.

Then the low level tray is put into position and the walling brought level with marine ply and sealed. The shower panel walling is then sealed in place, generally a colour is chosen to compliment the bathroom (easy clean and no grouting to collect mold).

At this stage, the glass shower panel or curtain is fitted together with shower valve and riser, fold down seat, if required, and grab rails as needed.

Last, but not least, we generally recommend a splash proof flooring outside of the walk in shower that is also slip resistant and comes in many attractive colours. All products used are of the highest quality and have non slip properties. The showers are thermostatic so to avoid any possibility of scalding.

Wherever possible we will use products manufactured in England.

The products we use are of high-quality and temperature controlled with safety the main priority. All flooring is slip resistant and splash proof and available in a wide range of colours and designs, as is the attractive wall panels. The wall panels require very little upkeep as there is no grouting to clean unlike traditional tiling.

Grab rails are available in different colours and sizes to suit your needs. There are also a wide selection of seats and fold down seats available. These automatically keep level when in a used position but fold up discreetly when not in use.

A level access shower area is the safest and easiest way to bathe. For individuals who like to have a soak in the bath there are also walk in bath / bath lift options available for mobility use. These are available in a wide range of colours. Should you wish to keep your existing basin etc. we can colour code the bath to match.

As with most mobility products upon proof of disability VAT will not be charged and subject to ZERO RATING.
